Can someone please post an IID screen shot of "normal" and "during an active regeneration burn" of the temperatures against the relevant sensors (Bank 1, Sensors 1, 2 and 3).
My understanding is Bank 1 Sensor 2 goes over 600, no.3 is mid 500 and no. 1 is lower again during a burn.
Also does anyone know 100% where each of these sensors actually are located. No guessing or debate please Bow down
(I don't need any Bank 2 Sensor 1 readings - that I know is the secondary turbo one on passengers side and only goes up when booted)
This is all feeding into the solution for an error code P2458-66 ( 28 ) that is being discussed on another thread https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic54864.html

Not a screenshot of the IID tool but a reading I took during a regen some time ago, not sure if it will help but gives some of the temps involved

Thanks. Was yours working properly when that was taken or having issues?
I thought B1S2 was the one that went above 600 from IID screen shots of those working OK e.g. Baltic Blue

I was trouble shooting an issue at the time but from what I can recall, I've only ever seen temps of 600+ on bank 1 sensor 3.
Definitely confusing as I've just trawled back to see BB's readings, especially as we are using the same tool. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

OK, this is non scientific but looking at the WM, I would guess (and it's only a guess) that the sensors are as follows :

Sensor 1 = 3
Sensor 2 = 4
Sensor 3 = 8

If that's correct it would imply (to me at least) that sensor 3 would have the highest reading.

Rob,
Bank 1 sensor 2 always goes over 620c when a full active regen is taking place, I have watched it peak over 650c but not easy to catch on screenshots when driving so have had to train my wife to operate my iPad.

Just to reiterate my own experience with a 16MY L405....

driving from yorkshire to plymouth, yellow engine light came on near plymouth. driving back next day the red light came on 50 miles from home. limped home on much reduced power - could barely manage 40mph on the motorway hills.

into the main dealer who claimed they tried everything to sort it including a forced regeneration which they said wouldnt even start.

quoted me £3.5k for a new dpf including fitting!

one call to the yorkshire dpf centre, came to my house next day and sorted it in 25 mins. £200.

again, they confirmed what a previous poster stated which is that the dpf is made from one of the hardest materials known to man and should NEVER need replacing. it is always something else.

in my case, possibly too many short journeys and especially doing them on a nearly empty tank so the engine won't do a passive regen even if you're on the motorway cos it thinks there isnt enough fuel.

i wont name the dealer but they really are terrible - not my first experience of misdiagnosis etc.

Just an iid update.
I have now successfully updated my iid to Beta 2764 and can see the option to proceed with a forced regeneration, however my current soot level is 10.5g so I can’t actually test it yet, but will be trying it soon and will report back on this thread.

Today’s live value screenshot.

Not had the issue for a number of years. Travelled from Cornwall towing at the weekend 50-60mpg all the way. Went out today and amber light came on, put some fuel in, and took it for 2 runs of about 20 miles each way. Had to drop to 30mph roads after the 20 miles, and had a stop of around 20 mins before coming back. Would a longer run work?

Ideally if you can get a run at around 55 60 MPH uninterrupted for 30 mins then your amber should go out (set cruise if you can). If the amber remains after this it may indicate an issue so check the usual suspects such as the 4 hoses on the intake plenum, give the MAP sensor a clean etc. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE
