Hi everyone, I picked up a 2014 vogue se yesterday and uptown now I am very happy with it. The interior is very tidy and only let down by a tiny bit of chrome peeling from the thin surround on the cup holder

Is this trim available separately oor is it only available as a complete centre console

Yeah they are a crap finish! I repaired mine with some chrome AC tape... You really have to look for it! And if it gets damaged, I can peel it off and re-apply

Mine was too, more annoyance as the edge was sharp to touch!!! Mine has been done for 4yrs now 👍

I did buy a replacement (as they are the same as some other LR models) but never got around to changing it… I guess that will tell you how well the tape repairs and blends in…

Mines peeling - identified by my wife who cut herself on it - and can confirm that it is indeed quite sharp.

It certainly is sharp . I have managed to remove most of the loose chrome (its really easy to peel off ) so just need to get some of the chrome tape that Craig recommended

Wish me luck as looking at Craigs build I suspect Craig is a lot more patient and talented than I am

That’s the stuff… Sticks like the proverbial to a blanket so pull it nice and tight when you install it, so it doesn’t crease… 👍

Going to have a go this weekend, did you remove the console or do it in situ? Also I need to peel off all the loose chrome Paul

I did mine in situ sir...

Watching with interest on this one. Unfortunately after all the fiddling about with the Rotary selector module my chrome surround is now also peeling and looking a little sorry for itself. (removal of cup holders a few times to release the gearbox)

Let us know how you get on with it, I think it is something I will be doing very soon also.

Finally got round to having a go at this job. Not perfect but definitely better than before. May take the console out one day and have another go. Maybe see if it can be stripped down to the components?

Used a new Stanley knife blade to peel the loose chrome and get between the black trim and the chrome strip.used 3 stripe, 1 on each side and 1 across the back edge. The corners are difficult to get neat but with a rounded plastic tool ( I used a small screwdriver handle) it is possible to smooth out some of the creases

Looks good - and reminding me that I really need to get mine done
