I did UK to Spain via Germany/France a few times on the CBR 600. I remember getting laughed at by a couple of guys at the ferry when I was heading out, don't think they'd ever seen a CBR 600 with 3 weeks worth of camping gear on it before

My second last bike was a BMW R75/6 in Boldor red. Last one was a BMW 100/RS. Took that touring in France with, like you, three weeks camping gear. Couldn't get on with the K100 series. Much preferred the boxer engine but then again I came from the old school of British bikes. My first "big" bike was a BSA A7 (500 cc) which I put an A10 (650cc). The frame was the same. I look at all the bikes on here and have a pang of nostalgia and a little bit of envy. John 2008 Stornoway Grey 3.6 Tdv8 Vogue 2005 TD6 Java Black Vogue - Written off!! Running this for work at the moment as not much chance to get over to Austria for a spin.

JamesD that blade looks lovely. Had one same colours for a while. Fabulous bike, but p/x for a new R1 when they came out in 97. Now I'm looking on Ebay. |

Not had a bike for about 15 years now but still look at them with envious eyes. I had bikes from about 6 year old until I was mid 30s. Tried most types from dirt bikes , supermoto to super bikes. Had a bad accident at 18 years old when I folded my leg the wrong way and ended up with pins and plates (that was on a RD350 ypvs)

Had to check back, as I thought I'd answered this thread almost a decade ago!
