Changing the touch screen

My friend has a 2012 TDV8 and his touchscreen is broken can we change it out for another plug and play or does it need to be coded to the car and how do we go about doing that 🤦🏽‍♂️ Thanks for your assistance Thumbs Up

In the Naviplus install thread Pas153 mentioned he killed his screen, and had to swap it out with another one he sourced from a breakers, so I'm guessing there's no coding issues there.

Just make sure you source the same type of screen again - single view or dual view - as I'm not sure if they are interchangeable?

You don’t say why it has failed, but it might be worth you checking out the fan is working OK and it is getting a good air flow.
The same fan feeds air to both the TFT screen and the main touch screen via plastic ducting.

Sorry it’s the toggle button for the bass and treble that’s not working looks like the previous owner got a little heavy handed with the toggle switch

Oh, well that will be an easy swap with a unit from a breakers.

There's still all the massive amount of work to do to strip the dashboard down to this point to get the display out, but the button panel itself comes off the frame easily and can be swapped out. Thumbs Up
