Indy bookings

Yesterday I phoned up over 7 different independent specialists to try and book my car in for the intake manifold replacement and a service and they are all fully booked for the next 4-6 weeks. I tried everywhere from Gloucester, Bristol right down to Weston super mare. Everyone was telling me the same thing, got nothing available. I even said i can leave it with them for the rest of week while I go drive on the continent, but no, nothing.
Anybody else from the UK having trouble booking their cars in at Indy"s due to being fully booked for weeks on end?

Similar here, but I use Brailsford Garage as he specialises in older landies (think he does l322 now)and think he’s working 2 weeks out. Interesting that the Renault/Nissan Specailist is the same but he’s booked up by dealers trying to get more used stock ready as they’re short of vehicles on the forecourt

We're book solid until 9th August, Not including:

50th Anniversary Defender resto
Defender Galv chassis + bulkhead
D4 Engine
L322 Engine
Defender Td5>V8 conversion
Another Defender galv chassis

Thankfully, these are all long term jobs, without much time pressures (so far)

So it's everywhere then. I wonder if it's to do with the parts shortage that everyone is suffering with. My boss tried to order a new Van, next march is when it will be delivered. Our sister company ordered 25 new DAF trucks and was told November next year the earliest. The used truck and Van market has gone through the roof. You'll be lucky if you can get one on hire these days.

Very disco, no I didn't. I just went on Google maps to look for ones along the M5 area from Gloucester to Bristol and I didn't see those ones. It's now at one in Bristol, they did the manifold on it by the previous owner. Although I didn't want to use them as the reviews are rather mixed, but needed it doing rather sharpish before Friday so I'll see how they fair. But those you mentioned I will keep in mind for next time. I even tried bucklands where the original owner took it and it was meticulous maintained by them but nearest slot was 3 weeks away.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Who in Bristol is doing it? I record all independent specialists as favourites on Google Maps so when anyone asks for one I've got the info to hand. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
2025MY Defender D350 90 in Silicon Silver on coils
1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie"
Many, many other Landies over the years
My preferred specialist: www.glenrands.co.uk

I really must explore this site a lot more, I could have found some more Indy's I could have tried. But i suspect they could be fully booked too.

Where are the list of specialists kept? Is there any chance you can share a link or instructions?

Many thanks,

David

DrRob and Stan, it's Landover services in Brislington Bristol. Mixed reviews but really needed it doing.

Good point there by slow progress. Can a list be made of all independent specialists with also a view to leaving feedback about them? Would save a lot of posters and newbies asking the same questions.

I can tell you this much..the Indies in the North West area a bunch of Cherry picking so and so's. Still trying to get a 3.6 leaking thermostat housing done ( known problem) but they won't entertain it because its 6 hours at least.
