You can always look for a BMW 540 or 740 vehicle in good condition, rob the engine & scrap the rest.....MOT failure be ideal?
Just a thought. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

The BMW M62 is an eight-cylinder V engine from BMW and the successor to the M60 engine range. The engines were produced from 1996 to 2005 and installed in the BMW models 8er E31 , 7er E38 , 5er E39 and X5 E53 . Furthermore, they were z. As the Range Rover from Land Rover , Bentley Arnage and in the Morgan Aero 8 used.

so quite a range to choose from, let us know what happens coz we're a nosey bunch! Laughing 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

These days you'll struggle for an E39/E38 for less than the cost of an engine. An E53 X5 might be possible but OP, make sure you find an M62 as the facelift versions had an N62. 2005 E60 M5

just an update, did not get my money back, but the seller sent us another engine ( but with a few more miles on it - but confirmed at 120,000 miles) so far it looks spot on with new timing chains and guides replaced, new head gaskets, new front and rear crank oil seals and has 60 days guarantee - so will get it fitted ASAP in the next week or so

and another update Jan 2022 - seven months later and no issues, runs very sweetly, very happy with the engine - phew Smile

NB have not put the LPG injector system back on yet yet, and not sure I will - the jury is out on that one, as it seems only Morrissons are selling LPG nationally.
