Heated / Cooled Seat Unit Repair Kits (Group Buy)

I am looking into a potential group buy of the heated cooled repair kits.

The more we can buy the cheaper we can get them.
We will also be offering a repair service (you send us your faulty unit and we assemble and send back) and drive in service if local.

If anyone is interested let me know, will make a list and get a price table together.

I'm about to take my car back to the garage that I bought it from for some warranty work. If they don't fix my front seats then count me in!

I've repaired mine 2 or 3 times this year trying various methods and I think its started to go again.
That's what has prompted me to look at alternate options.

Will get the ball rolling with this early next week.
Once I get 5-10 pre orders, will get landed price and confirm those still happy to proceed, we will then get an order placed.
We will probably order 20 or so for our own stock which will be sold at normal price.

Out of curiosity, what fails that you have to repair?

My driver's seat was not heating and the cooling was only working on the seat base. The passenger seat was working. I also hoped it would resolve my steering column position sensor / memory but this remains the same.

I replaced the seat ECU with a used ECU. Seat heating started working but seat cooling stopped working, as did heating of the passenger seat.

My next port of call is probably a brand new seat ECU, given the used one caused the inactive driver's heated seat to work. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I’m interested in this as mines not working and the duct is intact so might be worth a go! 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography

The plastic part of the seat back cracks over time. This causes the peltier unit to overheat and burn out.
Until now the only option was either a new complete unit (£280 odd last time I checked) or replace the cell and try to repair the cracked pipe. (I have repaired mine 2 times now with 2 different methods and I suspect it has gone again)

This new kit will replace both for no more than half the price of a new unit.

So I'm clear, if it fails, does this stop the ventilated seat back working but not the base?

If I turn on my ventilated seat, I can hear both the fan in the base and In the back run but, don't get any air coming through the perforated leather.

Obviously I do also have an ECU issue if my heated seat started working with a different ECU. I just wonder if the reason I'm not getting the ventilation through the seat back could be caused by something other than the ECU. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

If you don't have IID Tool or similar a good test is to feel the fan and put the heat on full.
If it turns off after a few seconds there is a fault. (Usually the seat back ducting cracked causing the cell to overheat)

Now the cooled side has no thermistor so the fan will run regardless of if the cell is working or not.

If the cell has gone it wont produce hot or cold.

If the ducting has split most of the air from the motor will be escaping before it gets to the seat.

My car is a 2006/7 3.6 TDV8. I thought those models had heat pads for heating but the fan for cooling? Is that not the case?

Very odd because I now cannot get the heated seat working on the passenger side but, with a change of ECU, the heated seat is working on the driver's side. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

As far as I know all L322 Heated & Cooled seats use that system.

The peltier cell can create heat and cold dependant on polarity. So the one unit can do both.
