Friday the 19th October I will head south for 3 nights. I will be 60 over the weekend so plan to have a big campfire and many rums. Its the last chance for a fire as beyond October total fire bans come in. I will head for Belvedere in the Leschenault Peninsula Conservation Park, Ocean one side and an estuary the other. Good fishing both sides with plenty of crabs and prawns. It was once a hippy commune in the 1970`s. The best bit is the Rangers provide free firewood as they don't want the bush chopped down. 2007 TDV8 VSE 2003 TD6 gone. 2002 P38a gone 1999 P38a gone 1997 p38a gone 1993 VSE gone 1992 VSE gone 1966 Series 2a with V8 conversion gone |

Thanks for the Birthday wishes, 60 on the 21st Oct, Trafalgar Day. That short Vid was right on the shoreline of a sandy beach so yes sand on the coral, a little further out and deeper and it was just teeming with life. Nice pic of the Hillman at the Dish. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Amazing how technology has enabled videos like that to be done so cheaply. Twenty or so years back and you'd have needed a thousand dollar housing. Ron B. VK2OTC

Back up into the tropics for another road trip, this time past Exmouth and up past Karratha to Cleaverville. 3 full days driving and 3 overnight stops, just pulled off the road onto quiet tracks. Spent 4 nights at Cleaverville camped on the dunes behind the ocean. Took time to explore the area's history and countryside. We then tried to get to our second planned stop, camping area on the Ashburton River close to Old Onslow. After checking the road conditions online we made the 4-hour trip south only to find the road closed due to flooding. Backtracked 60klms to find a place to wait for things to dry out. The old TD6 is running sweet and my traveling companion in a Ford Ranger can't believe the fuel economy I am getting.

Yes, I agree but the car and van in the shot are the people we are traveling with. I did have words with a massive American-style bus rv the pulled in then ran their air-con and generator constantly. It seems in these remote parts a lot of travellers are fearful of being on their own at night, that's what caravan p[arks are for not to share my campfire. After that intrusion, anyone pulling up got heavy metal at full blast till they got the message and moved on. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Having to give up on getting to the Ashburton river, local shire won't give a time and fines are alarming for entering onto a closed road. $1000 a wheel inc spare so $8000. Been away and off grid for 2 weeks so time to return home, a 1400klm cruise.

Australia is on the green list But unfortunately, you have to quarantine for two weeks in a hotel and not leave the room for anything? I have been waiting to get there? |
