Where/ Who to Recondition Turbo 3.6 TDV8

Hi folks.

So, as some of you may know may RR recently decided now was the time for the Turbos to pack up.

Rather the LH side to be exact. Still don't know about the exact condition of the turbo as the mechanic is stripping it out.

I'm hopeful the engine is OK and has suffered no long term damage. The intercooler pipe was full of oil, and that's all I know thus far.

PS - it nearly stalled, but didn't and does start so isn't seized.

Anyways, anyone have a rough idea of turbo recon costs/ people & or firms to do the work?

Anywhere in the UK or Ireland is OK.

Likewise, bar cleaning the pipes out and intercooler anything else you'd recommend to failsafe for the future...

I can highly recommended a Shropshire based company called United Diesel in Shrewsbury. They recently refurbished my turbo’s and did a fantastic job. When I put mine back together I replaced the oil feed pipe for the turbo’s.

Another +1 for Midland Turbo's. Quick turnaround, excellent quality and they really know their stuff. They have built several hybrid turbo's for me the most specialist one fitted to an engine developing 500hp from 1300cc, they were instrumental in the design of this turbo. BMW i3 Electric Car

Thank you Folks!

I have reached out to both these companies.

Any other advice when doing this job bar the turbos themselves?

What should I check out to avoid this happening again?
