shredded belt

my range rover vogue tdv8 4.4 serpentine belt shredded so took it to the indy and they said needed a new tensioner so they replaced that and two new belts(£804)...300 miles later the belt shredded again! so they had it back and have now told me that the alternator wasnt fitted properly which i had done 6 months ago(not by them) and that was why the belt shredded, and that i should be in touch with the garage that fitted the alternator.. all sounds extremely dodgy too me. they are trying to charge me for 2 new belts once again and a bit of labor..at my wits end with them! any one got any suggestions??

If the alternator was not fitted correctly and caused premature failure of the belts, why didn't they spot it when they replaced the belts and tensioner? BMW i3 Electric Car

Good luck, something has to be way out of line to shred belts so quick. BMW i3 Electric Car
