L405 Style 7008 22" wheels/tyres - what are they worth?

Has anyone got a view about how much a set of Genuine Land Rover 22" Style 7008 (LR038150) wheels/tyres are worth?

I've advertised a set of these wheels in the For Sale section and on eBay, and had no interest. They were recently refurbished and the tyres are OK (decent makes and 3 around 6mm and one at 3mm, though one has a nick in the side).

Am I trying for too high a price or is no-one looking at this time? I'd be interested in your thoughts about what they are worth.

You're marketing in the right places

If they don't sell, it can only be the price, start them off on ebay at a low start price to garnish interest and let them go to the highest bidder.

Tricky, wheels and tyres are funny money wise, I remember paying about £1000 for a set of 20” take offs years ago, I think now the value seems to come more from the tyres than the wheels. Turbines fetch the most money as they are the most liked, but will struggle if the tyres are shot.

Your style is a bit marmite, so someone looking for some 22” would probably discount the wheels even though they are in good condition as they have a mixed bag of tyres, 2 Pirelli 2 conti, 2 good tread 2 more worn, one with a pretty big nick, and you aren’t specific which type has the nick, is it one of the good ones or the most worn one.

I’m not advocating you go out and buy 2 new tyres obviously, but on the used market that is where the bulk of the value lies, so value the tyres, then add a few hundred quids for the wheels.

2 good tyres £200
1 average tyre £75
1 poor tyre £45
£250 for wheels

£570 ish.....? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I know what you mean about the rims being Marmite - and is the main reason why they had to go - but Ouch.... only £250 for four genuine 22" wheels? I paid about that to have them refurbished only a few months ago.....

This is what is what I'm getting confused about as I saw a set of the rims on eBay advertised for £1000 (and they've now gone so I assume they sold). Someone is trying for £235 for just one that is quite badly damaged - weld, scuffed face etc. (see pic), and someone else is trying for £2999 for a set painted black...! Shocked

And sadly, the nick is in one of the better tread tyres (but there are 2 extra tyres included)

I guess I'm going to have to keep reducing the price until it interests someone. Current:

I've just seen a pic of Cam-Tech-Craig's on a thread about fitting L405 wheels to an L322 and they don't look bad...

IMHO they suit the L322 better

They've never really been a popular wheel for the L405.

Might be worth seeing if you can borrow Craigs photo for an eBay listing ?

Good idea - I've asked about the pictures, and also modified the adverts to pitch it more towards the L322. Lets see what happens now Thumbs Up Current:
