There was a P38 in The Horse Whisperer (1998). Kristin Scot Thomas is driving through a forest in the US with her young daughter (played by Scarlett Johansson) when she crashes it, or misses a moose in the road (can't remember which). I think my interest waned after that point - only got the DVD because my wife is horse mad.

Found a link to the 1970's Range Rover chase in Callan - not as good as I remember, but lovely little chirp from one of the belts in the Range Rover's engine! For some reason this one stuck in my memory from childhood but always liked Edward Woodward.
