I would think that asking that question on here, is akin to pulling the pin and throwing in a hand grenade to see what happens Some people can be quite opinionated

I reckon the L322 TDV8 4.4 2012 Westminster though I might be a tad bias... but two and three quarter years of nearly non-stop heaven driving thus far with only one first cold snap (Dec 2020) after unused for 4-weeks' call out for a jump start in all the time owned...

My 3.6 TDV8 (2010 MY, so with the facelift) was pretty reliable. In 4 years the only issues were egr valve, fuel tank sender and low pressure diesel pump. Any of those things could happen with any make of car. Other than that, the car was utterly reliable with no issues on trim breaking, rust or electrical gremlins. |

I remember reading that the 4.2's were the most reliable.

The general rumour is that the 4.2s are bombproof! |

So those before 2005 with lower tax are not all bad! That would fund some fuel for a v8 😀 or pay for the 4.4tdv8 for (relative) peace of mind! |

I added just over 100,000 miles to my petrol 4.4 V8 whilst I owned it and repaired / replaced quite a few things.

Yes some luck and not driving them as though you're on the last lap against woke Hamilton, doing your best to push his side rear end... |

Perhaps that means TD6 is best of all given mpg/purchase price and that gearbox costs have come down 😀😂 |
