No cabin airflow L323 2012 Westminster. Help please ?

Hi,

Just spent a stuffy 6 hours in traffic with no airflow from vents.

Car just been serviced and cabin filters changed.

Anyone have advice please ?.

I can hear the fan ok.

Tried all kind of heat/cool/max a/c reset inhibition

A bit teaching to suck eggs but have they switched off the aircon? On mine it's the button with the snowflake symbol not sure what the symbol is on yours.

Alternatively, if the above doesn't apply and you are on full auto for the aircon, try pressing the centre button to divert the air to face level. It has worked for me. John

Thanks everyone.

You would never believe it would make so much difference?. But, the cabin filter was in the wrong way around !.

Arrows pointing up, not down.

Okay, so here is an update.

Even I thought the Pollen / Cabin Filter in the iron way around wouldn't cause such an issue. However, the reason why I "thought" it had will become clear below.

The airflow stopped again today. So, I pulled over and found the suction pipe (low side of the A/C System iced up. So the front evaporator is clearly frosting up and blocking airflow across the fins. So the frost is a blanket preventing airflow. The rear evaporator must be okay as that works fine.

I did notice when the A/C Was switched off that the ice melted and I saw a tiny billable around the crimp on the hose. So I think the suction/low size hose is leaking.

I have just arrived at my house in Spain, I have some gauges here, a Vac pump and a 11kg bottle of R134a. So will take a look at what is going on in the system.

I'm in Spain too, Alicante. What a a pain it is when the aircon isn't working!

Mine has gone from the fan not coming our of anywhere to none of the zircon buttons or knobs doing anything. Rear outlet is blasting out warm air, the knobs back there have no effect either!

That’s a bigger problem than mine. At least I have the equipment and gas to work with.

That said. New starter and battery just cost me €900
