its the same thread size [14x1.5] but if you are fitting the 2002-2005 OE wheels with the 20mm size shank nuts then the locating pins will be to big ..
if you have the newer wheels with the 23mm size shank then the locating pins will be ok... ... - .- -.

That’s what I was wondering to be honest.... I thought they were the same fitment... just the wheel bolt washer angle that was different, and the pin doesn’t have that on, so should be the same?

Thumbs Up

Ah, ok, cheers Stan... more than a single difference then....

I ask as l have pins that l bought for my 2004 car with original wheels on it but l actually now have a set of 2010 wheels on it. I use the pins every now and again and they fit the later wheels without issue. As far as l can tell the pins are a universal fit and will fit any year FFRR.
Unless anyone can tell me different of course. Smile

your 'now' wheels fit cos the old pins are slightly smaller in diameter? ... - .- -.

Stan, my pins are 20mm día so you are probably right but why would you manufacture a bigger día pin just because the wheel hole was bigger.
The pins just have to fit the 14mm día thread and then have enough wall thickness to be sufficiently robust to hang a wheel on without failing. Obviously 20mm día is sufficient.
These pins don't have to be an exact fit, in fact loose is probably better.
It would seem therefore that pins for 2003-5 cars are indeed universal but pins made specifically for 2006 on aren't. Thumbs Up

nicedayforit - Nice info and drawing. Thank you, it will save me the job of measuring up. I will take the drawing to sea with me to make a set, or be lazy and tell the fitter to make them up for me when he is not too busy Whistle

I agree on the 'loose is better' point, more wiggle room.

That drawing HAS to be from someone from an engineering background Sir. Stands out a mile Thumbs Up
