2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey
Diesel leak

Just asking to see if it is known problem....

I have a 2016 MY Autobiography and car developed a very instant and strong diesel leak from the engine bay. Lots of smoke and horrible burning diesel smell. I have the AA coming out to take a look but wondered if anyone ever experienced similar. The diesel seems to be at the top of the engine - whilst I havent taken it off, the underside of the plastice cover in moddle of engine is soaking wet with diesel. Also evidence of it all up sides of car. I am assuming split/burst pipe but equaly could be soemthing much worse!

Thankfully happened about a mile away from home, i thought it was car in front, and was only when i turned into my road I realised it was me!!

Thanks in advance

So, it appears during lockdown a mouse nested under the engine cover and chewed through a diesel pipe. Can anyone identify the pipe which has been chewed through and advise how difficlut it is to replace? Thanks in advance

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Ipanema Sand

Farmer near here has blown up his new L405. Turns out he has had rats in farmyard and they have chewed through some pipes on turbos . The remains have gone through turbos blowing them and subsequently terminal damage to engine! Repair quote in excess of £24k.....fortunately rodent damage is covered on his insurance....probably NFU. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23
