I use 20" AT3's on my L405 for the shooting season and have found them very good. Before that I was on Pirellis and nothing causes more amusement than an FFRR stuck in a field!

Be aware that they’re nothing like as good on the road, noticeably worse in the wet. |

Philip - I am guessing you have had a bad experience with the AT3's? Out of interest was this with 20" or 21"?

Not a bad experience, there’s just a trade-off for the off-road ability. Style 5001 are the official 19”s for an L405. |

If they were as good on the road as the standard tyres, but much better off it, wouldn’t they come with them as standard? |

On a 322 not a 405 I’ve never noticed any wet weather issues in 30K miles with Grabber AT3s |

I’ve got 255/55/20 Grabber AT3s on mine and no problems at all in the wet. |

Great test and very informative. It’s a pity they didn’t include a product from Pirelli. Never the less it would seem the Goodyear makes for a great all-rounder. |

General Grabber ATs have been on all my previous 4x4s, without a hint of a problem, and that includes towing the tin tent.
