Alternative viewpoint, why should I pay to fund people going on pre-payment meters? it's right and proper that if they cant be trusted to deal with a monthly bill then they should go on pre-payment which is also funded by themselves.

Nothing to do with trust for those who cannot afford to fork out a lump sum but who still need transport for work etc. John

Yes, but they are not “alright” really though are they? They don’t have a V8....

It’s like saying it’s cheaper to walk 🤣

Seriously though, I think it’s nice to have a bigger engined car, before they get legislated away, and a higher disproportionate car tax is what we have to pay.

I do less than 3000 miles a year, even without lockdowns, so I might be better off if car tax was added to fuel tax instead... but plenty of folk wouldn’t be.....

There is only 1 winner in this, and it’s not a fullfatrr owner.....

It will be interesting to see the clamour of indignation and fury from zero and low rated car owners once their vehicles are in the majority, as then the government will have to tax them all at a higher rate. The money has to come from somewhere. That's if they haven't forced us all off the road by then. Big Cry

Paid 12 months tax last week on the 4.4 TDV8, €154.00.

Yes, I know, it’s Spain, but wow what a colossal difference to the U.K. Boils my blood they charge more to pay direct debit/instalments rather than a one-off amount. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Trust me "Nobby", on the very few times when I've used the extra "ooomph" as you say there wasn't a milli-second
of regret.
