United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Corris Grey
Any experience with the D300?

Looking at maybe ordering a runout model as there are some good deals to be had, I would be considering the D300. Mostly I am interested in refinement as I don't care about overall performance. Anyone have one and what are your thoughts?

Regards,

I've got one arriving on May 18th,and it is said to be smoother and quieter (& better mpg) than the TDV6 so I was quite happy to order without a test drive. Thumbs Up All LR cars from 1984

I will be interested in your thoughts when you take delivery. I have been quoted around Aug/Sept delivery if I order now, I am close to a decision and hope to place a deposit in the next few weeks. I regret having to sell my 2016 TDV6 that I had from new (divorce) so this one would be a keeper. The FFRR is the only car I have owned where I have not been looking for a replacement...which says a lot. 2021 L405 Vogue D300

D300 in Defender is awesome is all i can say, quite, refined and plenty of grunt. New Hold feature is excellent too.

Its a natty little feature, pull up at lights press brake and then release brake pedal and vehicle is held and then a gentle tap on accelerator and away she goes again. Also the new Privi Pro is amazing and new surround cameras. The D300 is an awesome engine though in my view and i am no lover of Diesels, its smooth powerful and responsive.

Not having auto hold is something that still annoys me regularly, after nearly a year with the car. I first had it on a new Passat back in 2006 and every automatic I’ve owned has had that feature, even my wife’s Golf R. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

For those that are interested I found some feedback on the D300 unit from the Disco5 forum who have been taking deliveries this year, it seems very positive against the SDV6

United Kingdom 2018 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Loire Blue

I borrowed a D300 Westminster a few weeks back. The engine/drivetrain is amazing. Fuel consumption superb as is the performance. Couldn’t fault the drivetrain.
I have since bought a ‘68 SD 4.4 Vogue SE. Just to say, for whatever reason, my 4.4 ride quality is in another league to the car we borrowed. So much smoother.
The Westminster D300 was quite “boingy “ (apologies but that’s how it felt) on the straights. Good in the corners. I would have bought anyway but couldn’t believe how different the SD4.4 was.
My car is on 21’s as opposed to the Westminster 22’s but other than that I cant explain why they were so different. So that is my only “word of warning”. Maybe a Vogue SE/AB would be different?
BUT the D300 as an engine, superb. Smile

The 4.4 gets active roll control and it makes a big difference to har the car drives having driven a 3.0 and 4.4 back to back. It doesn't just help with the roll though, it also reduces the vertical movement which could be the 'boingy' feeling you had? MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I believe the 3.0 TDV6 did not have active roll either, I had one of those for 3yrs and had no issues with the ride comfort. I only drove a 4.4 for a short period so did not get enough of a direct comparison. 2021 L405 Vogue D300

It didn't, no, so unless they have made major changes (which is highly unlikely) then you'll be very happy with a D300. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
