After one week of ownership I broke my roof. I had an old set of Toyota food bars and put them on at dusk, very pleased with myself having saved £400. This morning after an hours drive with some timber on the top, I found that I had accidentally crushed the glass with the bars and caused a few cracks

I thought it would need to go through the insurance as a full claim, but was delighted when told that pano roofs are covered under the glass policy and Autoglass will do it for £75 excess.

I have learned my lesson and also ordered the correct cross bars! 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

Coverage of the Pano roof seems all over the place with different insurance companies.

I would rather not have the fixed rails though.

See if Thule do a foot pack for their wing bars which will fit the L405. They did them for the L322.

Thule didn't used to - not sure if they started

Just checked Roofbox company and they suggest they dont make foot packs for them L404 2013 onwards.

I was a dealer for Thule in the past and my business personally had an issue with a Pano roof, not on a RR though, shortly after Thule notified its dealers not to offer roof bar systems on any vehicle with a pano roof, unless specifically listed on their latest application guide.
