Also I think a Range Rover should retain off-road ability as that is what it is all about a luxury 4X4.
Even though you might not need it, it's good to know you can rely on this technology when the going gets tough!
You don't need a V12 sportscar either as most of us don't use all the power on the road but it's good to know you can.

Yes i agree Range Rovers big selling point is the " Command Driving Position " if it ends up looking like a longer wider Evoque ( which i do like and wife is having one ) with a lower profile and no nice engine then i shall be cancelling my order and getting my deposit back Sad Far to many gone...

Let's be honest, does a Range Rover really need that fantastic axle articulation and the other things that add to the weight?
95% of customers would probably say no as they never do more than mount a pavement.

It's vital that the car retains its off-road ability, although I agree that it is irrelevant to the majority of the newer customers who just like the idea of telling people they have one (also see the status-hungry new-money Chinese and Indians who'll be lining up for the new one).

Splitting the name off as a brand in its own right can also only devalue things.

I'm wondering if the L322 will be the last of the "real" Range Rovers.

Like Freelander2 and Evoque I wonder if there will be the option of an emissions reducing 2WD version in 2012 to help reduce the corporate emissions level? 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I thought the L322 was BMW/Jaguar Whistle

The last real Range Rover was the Classic Thumbs Up

The L322 was mostly a BMW machine with a bit of Ford input later. And despite the fact that I'd never buy a regular BMW I think they did a fantastic job on it.

Agreed!! the L322 is the best range rover ever!! BMW did a brilliant job - im hoping Land Rover don't make too many modifications to the design BMW did a great job capturing the essence of the range rover classic in the L322 - just like they did with the Rolls Royce Phantom - the L322 has the 'LOOK' like a range rover should and the phantom is the same it 'LOOKS' like a rolls royce should.

Good Job!

Matt
