The problem has begun to develop a little more now.

I put it into the garage who said they found pink around the thermostat housing but, when they did a pressure test on the coolant system, there was no leakage.

Before, I had no smoke. Now, I'm getting a humid grey sooty smoke out the back that isn't the original black diesel soot I was getting caused by the vacuum pump. When I give the throttle some welly, the coolant level drops in the expansion tank and the grey smoke comes out the back.

If the thermostat housing was leaking, I'd say this should be identified on a pressure test so, whilst it may need replacing at some point, I'm not convinced this is the cause.

There's still no milkyness on the oil cap or dipstick, no sweet smell and no overheating.

Does anyone know how the cooling system works on these?

I'm thinking the cause could be the EGRs or EGR cooler or is there an exhaust gas cooler, where the coolant is making its way into the exhaust gases? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I had a slow coolant leak. A coolant stop leak fixed it. That was about 3 years ago, no leak since.

Admittedly I didn't find where the leak was. But there are so many places for coolant to leak. I love the 3.6, but the coolant lines go everywhere. Not a simple engine. ______________________________
