I’m sure this is not new news to most on here but I was amazed at how competent my L322 was off-road this morning. A friend of mine runs a 4x4 off-roading school and he offered to teach me the basics in local private woodlands. Suffice to say that it’s ability flatters the driver. Low range, raise suspension, select mud&ruts and voila, instant off-road competence |

I take mine out green laning when I get chance, and yes it is amazing what these vehicles can do. I believe they should be used for what they where originally built for and to there full potential. Get yourself some decent tyres like AT3’s and away you go.

Jeez! I'd have a word with the council about that track! It's almost as bad as parts of the M6 round Birmingham |

Will you be doing the same with the SC, Pete? The videos were before you had done all the mods - spare wheel etc? John

They're also too fat to fit between the walls on many "Green" lanes up in Derbyshire - lol.

I might bump the S/C up a kerb now and again but that's as far off road as it's going, although with the locking rear diff it would be better than Fatty off roader..!!

You can descend as you describe until the gradient gets too steep and the speed of the car overtakes the speed of the wheels, then you are sliding downhill with no traction...

Yep, you select it before you attempt the climb, it only comes in if you need it... |

LOL that reminds me when I had my experience day. I thought he was crazy when he told me to go back down in reverse after I just climbed up. But still found it not as impressive as how it dealt with just long wet grass.
