Suspension airbag, good for another 24 years?

Replaced all 4 suspension airbags today on the P38, surprisingly easy DIY job - used Dunlop’s. Although the EAS system worked flawlessly (refurbed the valve black and compressor ~6 months ago) the bags were the last step.

I knew one of the rear bags was looking dangerously worn.

All four bags had varying manufacturing date stamps, the youngest being 2008.

...but the oldest was Jan 1997...older than the car, so I suspect the original one...gulp. The car is a July 1997 Build.

How long are they designed to last? obviously one should take a proactive approach to maintaining the EAS system.

Made me smile.

I've got a saggy bottom so time to bite the bullet and get all 4 done. They were noted as perished on an MOT 3 years ago, so no point changing one and then chasing a leak around the other 3 until they go....

Always good to have something to do...... Laughing

Unfortunately, the original Dunlop bags seem to last a lot longer then the current offerings from Dunlop Sad

24 years is definitely good going! That one doesn't owe much!
