It's because the engine is running, it tells you the oil level but you have to leave it for 20 mins after you have switched off for it to work. Switch just the ignition on to read it. It also shows the VIN IIRC.... Pete

I thought the oil level menu was only available on the 4.4? 2010 MY Range Rover 3.6 TDV8 Vogue SE - Stornoway Grey with Semi-Aniline Ivory Leather and Piano Black Trim

There is no dipstick on the 5.0 engine... this is the only way to check it's level... |

The oil level option won’t be there on the 3.6, but other options should be. As mentioned already, try it with the engine off. Might get to choose the menu then?

Well finally got to check, indeed the Service option does light up if engine off, disappointed only option is to view the cars Vin number☹️ At least it does work I suppose. 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy

Yes I only get the VIN bit, guess it's dependant on Year, mines a 3.6 as well. 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy
