United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

I cant see any benfit in doing that when replacing with cunifer pipe would be easier in terms of being able to to flare, bend etc and will outlast the car whereas the lr genuine will no doubt rust and corode again and need replacing in a few years. I suppose it would be possible if you can find a pipe flaring tool strong enough to do steel. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

Bit of a thread resurrection here but I’m trying to replace the rear O/S flexi brake pipe.

I’ve reached a point where I’m trying to split the incoming pipe from the flexi at the bracket as shown. I really don’t see a way to get this separated. From the fact that the new flexi pipe has an internal thread, I’m assuming the this means the incoming pipe needs to be unscrewed from the flexi pipe? My worry is that I have tried to do this and I’m worried if I use more force something will break and make more work.

Apologies for the mis-orientation of the pic of the join but I can’t seem to be able to rotate it, so imaging it rotated 90 degrees with the flexi pipe on the left of the photo.

Has anyone any ideas? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

You undo it from the nut you see at the top of the pic where the old metal pipe is shown. It's years since I did mine but think that fitting goes inside the Flexi hose with a flared pipe end. Use a spanner in the flex so it doesn't twist. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

If you try to undo it with an open ended spanner you risk rounding it off...

Use a proper flare nut spanner and ease it out, plenty of plus gas or similar then undo it 1/4 turn, then do it up, then undo a bit more, then do it up a bit... keep going and hopefully it comes out OK

If you have an old ring spanner and a grinder you can make one of course.... Very Happy Pete

Alternatively if you are replacing the metal brake pipe just cut it off and use a 6 point socket to prevent it rounding off. If you aren't replacing them then the a flare nut spanner is a good shout. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

I had no plans to replace the metal pipe but it may well come to that. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I had to cut mine, there was no chance of it unscrewing.. best to cut it off as you dont want to break the bracket on the chasis it screws onto. Current:
