exhaust

Just scraped through the MOT on exhaust condition but clearly action needs to be taken. I want the whole thing in stainlless, manifolds to tail pipe and I'll need cats. The last bit may require some creativity.
2 current options. Kingsley do the lovely looking exactly what I need system, to you sir £4200. Err no
SS do a system with lambda threads but no cats, so just weld a couple into the Y pipe and off you go. Around £1k plus fitting.
Anyone found any other options?

Try PD Gough in Nottingham. They are fantastic.

I had a bespoke exhaust made by them for my Citroen XM V6. It was made for the car and was fitted on the same day all for 700 quid.

If they've done one for a car before they can supply it without needing your car. They keep the originals or patterns from cars that they've worked on and use them as a template to create a jig. They then store the jig once completed so can recreate from them very easily.

They're one of the only places I'd use now having seen their workmanship on the XM exhaust.

What classic is it? SS exhausts are easily available for a Disco 1 for very sensible money after getting some silly prices for one for my 110 with a D2 4.6 in it, a friend fitted a used D1 one for little money, it needed a spacer pipe made up for the longer Chassis, .... a very cost effective option that even if it does not last for ever it will last a good long time

Just find a good lock exhaust shop where they build them. They should be able to make whatever you want.

The one for my L322 5.0SC was fantastic, I upgraded to manual override electronic exhaust valve so I don’t just have the mean V8 sound but can also enable the ducking mean V8 sound at the press of a button opposed to crazy revs and this speed. And whilst I recommend them there really is no need to drive long distances unless you have something seriously exotic.

Car is a soft dash LSE, 94, so needs cats really.
The only issue I've run into with manufacturers is that they aren't keen on making bespoke manifolds or they are very expensive as they take a lot of time.
I'll have a look at Gough's website, thanks.
Quiksilva do back boxes but nothing else for classics and they are a bit wideboy for me.

I didn’t read properly; so for £4,200 that includes bespoke exhaust manifold and also the cats? Damn that is actually really good value for money.

A lot of money, but good value at the same time as well. Especially if it includes fitting as well.

Personally I would rather go the bespoke route so you can have the sound exactly how you would like it.

For me it’s an insane amount of money, the Disco options do have cats as options - and it would be easy enough to adapt

The gains from the manifolds and Y pipe for me where not going to give the gain, vs cost

It’s a lovely car you have there, got really close a couple of times to having one, but a 4+ plus set of pipes wow
