Forecourt wouldnt let me fill up?

So went to my local Morrison’s for some lpg at lunchtime and it was out of order - fine...

Got some petrol and while I was paying I asked when the gas was likely to be back she said a couple of week but unless the car was equipped with lpg from the factory they wouldn’t let me fill up - new rules apparently for health and safety as they can’t vet every conversion - I said I’d had it for a couple of years no issues why now and is it their job to police it... she was very anti so before I exploded I left...

Anyone had or heard of this elsewhere? I think it’s completely unenforceable are they going to inspect your v5 every fill?

dunno bout new rules but I've noticed that most if not all of the gas fills near me have been removed during the Covid.
to such a degree I haven't used gas for so long it'll need a service before I fill up again

Looks like LPG is being phased out, may be reason behind lack of availability
Quick google search, Shell & BP both withdrawing it.

BP withdrew it about 5 years ago nationally and she’ll about 2 years but Morrison’s and flogas still big also - not my cup of tea but Dacia are launching a factory fit line Current stable:

Sounds difficult to enforce.

I switched back to diesel and I have to say I wouldn't go back, the experiment has failed IMO.

Be a while before I can afford electric, either traditional fuels will be around for some years to come or driving will become the reserve of the few who can afford new stuff.

We're still lucky in South Glos/North Bristol... Seems to still be many places selling it! Ill be very disappointed if it does completely disappear! We've usually got one LPG kicking around here...

Well it does seem a bit mad - out of the fossil fuels we have a) it’s a waste product that’s wasted anyway and b) it’s the best for the environment not sure why they wouldn’t push it until the grid can take electric if climate is the real agenda Current stable:

I ran on LPG for 14 years with 2 Range Rovers - a 4.6 P38 and a 4.4 L322 and thought it was great. I used Morrisons quite often at Chadderton, Leigh & Denton sites.

Last year I changed to an L405 and went the diesel route. I know it's harder to convert the modern engines and I'm not ready to spend the money required for a Tesla or equivalent.

I never heard that Morrisons would turn away cars that had been converted and thought that was the purpose of the register to ensure that all conversions had been done properly. I can't help feeling that the person at Morrisons doesn't know what they are talking about. Current:

I'm in this camp - I suspect (and hope) this is nonsense, I can't imagine that the average till jockey will know the difference between a Ford and a Vauxhall (or care), there's no way they would know if my old Outlander had a factory fit or later addition LPG kit fitted.
