Had just about the most laughable HMRC scam call today.

It came as a voicemail, well 3 of them actually, from Officer Revenue Wilson, with a time sensitive issue, need to call back on this number ASAP, if I don’t then I will have de facto evaded HmRC, and be prepared to face the legal consequences....

Bad English aside, I don’t know how they fool anyone. Anyone who deals directly with the HmRC knows they would never get off their to actually phone you.... a snippy letter at best!

Was a Sheffield number. So you’ve been warned!  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

You’ve got to laugh. I can’t remember the last time I actually spoke to a real person at HMRC. They just send emails.

As well as this scam, I also got one purporting to be from the NCA to tell me my NI number had been "suspended".

I had a call from amazon prime telling me about my payment.

Never had an amazon account in my puff..

That is a new scam. SWMBOs mum had the same call..... she’s not got an Amazon account either! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had a call from ‘Windows’ 🤪

Chap said I had ‘many wiruses’ on my computer... not sure how he ascertained this, from me just saying hello.

Told him how I felt about his scam... in just 2 words

I love playing along with them for a minute or two....

Best one is the “hello, this is Katy Smith from accident and legal solicitors ltd. I understand you’ve been in an accident!”

I always say “yes thank god you’ve called, I’ve litteraly just run over an old lady. I think she’s dead. can you help me PLEASE!!!”

They normally rely ply with more recorded message to which you can say something equally stupid. Keep them going for 5 mins and then thank them for wasting your time.. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
