IMO there's less useable height in a 405 compare to 322, but I suspect the Disco is better, its definitely taller externally. Mike - MPx

D3/4 definitely taller than than a 322. 405 boot is more constricted . There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

i doubt you will be able to stand the bike up with the handlebars as they are, ive loosened the clamps and rolled the bars down on my boys bike and it fir just, main difference is the d3/4 has a completely flat load space once the seats are down this make getting things like bikes in a lot easier, personally i wouldn't due to leaking oils and fuel 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

It has a holeshot device, which compresses the suspension by several inches, with that on it looks like it might just fit in a Discovery

I have a couple more things to try, including taking the front wheel off and maybe machining a little dolly wheel which would allow it to roll but keep the height down.

I've used towbar carriers before, on a saloon car - they're great, but offer little protection from theft and rain - which is why I really want to put the bike inside if at all possible. Pikey by name, not by nature

update - I got it in there by taking the front wheel off. Its within an inch of being too small - both in terms of length and height available. And actually the process of taking the wheel off and lifting the bike into the boot is a right pain.

I might be going back to having 3 cars - well, 2 cars and a van - rather than trying to make one vehicle fit everything I need it to do  Pikey by name, not by nature

Just got a video from Land Rover in Cheltenham - I enquired about an L405 they currently have, and the nice lady there went out and measured the boot opening for me

Unfortunately, the boot opening height of a 405 is more than 4" shorter than my 322, measuring ~810mm where I've measured mine at ~920mm - and mine is literally only just tall enough to get the handlebars of the bike in.

A Chrysler Grand Voyager may be good in that case, still can have some luxury and a powerful'ish engine...Or alternatively Mercedes V class...

How easy is it to try taking the front wheel out and see if it goes in then??
