Hi everyone,

Does anyone know the purpose of these right angle plastic bracket type things and the correct positioning? One is up, one is down and one is loose so it can be up or down until it falls off from bending it too much.

I think they shouldn't be visible.
The heater plenum has been replaced incorrectly at some point . Paul,

I found this photo and now think they are supposed to be there and in the down position. But, what are they for? Do they serve any purpose?

That looks the same as mine, all I can think of is that they help guide the plenum chamber back into place

On your picture they seem to have flipped up

When the bonnet is closed, they hold the upper panel in place, if they break off, you will get a whistle / humming noise at about 70mph (don'task me how I know ) 2010 3.6 TDV8

Thanks! In fact, I've noticed a whistling sound at about 70 mph but I thought it was from deteriorated foam from where the side vent goes into the vent duct in the dash. I'll make sure all three are glued in the right position (got to love JB Weld!).
