By that kind of ridiculous (in my opinion) fanboy style reasoning then our cars are nothing more than tarted up Tata’s Wink

Each to their own. Audis leave me cold and I’ve always thought them over priced for what they are. LR has been around for longer than Tata has owned it and you won’t find interchangeable parts between Tata cars and Land Rover products. Underneath VAG cars are chock full of interchangeable parts, from widgets right up to sub assemblies. Makes them cheaper to produce of course, further reinforcing the overpriced point.

Blimey Andy S your selective reasoning is rather strong. Rather undermines any potentially valid points you may have had.

Anyway, back to the Q8. Has anyone driven one yet? I suspect they are fabulous to drive, IMO they look good too, brutal slabbyness. Vault-like quality. Darth Vader.

But, all those touch screens? Not for me. Other than that...thumbs up. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Andy, you make oy larf "Audis leave me cold and I’ve always thought them over priced for what they are" over priced when you drive a Range Rover Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Do you really think that a Range Rover has no parts commonality? nothing shared? IF thats the case and Land Rover design completely new and unique parts for every model that would be crass stupidity. BMW i3 Electric Car

Rolling with laughter Indeed.

I mean there is the flipping obvious that every knows, well I though everyone knows like the engines from BMW, Jaguar etc. But then also the platforms itself, and yes Andy S is making himself look a bit silly as they are shared with Tata models as well just as an example.

As you say AJ it would be crass stupidity if they didn't, but as they do the stupidity isn't with JLR Wink

Manufacturers not only share between models but they share between each other, Yamaha V8 engine fitted to Volvo, Citroen/Peugeot diesel in Land Rover products, VW Diesel in Ford Galaxy....... BMW i3 Electric Car

All very true, but this is a Range Rover forum so why the chorus of approval for glammed up VWs? I’d far rather buy an overpriced UK designed and built car. But it’s a free country, so if you want to chose different then do
