So had mot last week and advised to change tyres. I had continental 275 40 22 on the car, and the ride is lovely. However on replacement prices online the pirelli scorpion Verde all seasons is coming in at 217 fitted each as opposed to 245 for continental conti Cross contact lx sport. Any recommendations??

I personally think that the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season is one of the best tyres that you can put on a car. Good road holding and braking in all but the most atrocious weather conditions 👍

The Conti's wear on the shoulders much quicker then the others.

For me, the choice would be between Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV, Michelin Cross Climate + SUV, Pirelli Scorpion Zero or Pirelli Scorpion Verde.

We've got Pilot Sport 4 SUV's on our 3.2 Freelander 2 and find them to be great. On one of the P38's is a new set of Cross Climate + SUV and again the grip, noise levels in good weather are great, and bad weather ability is superb.

Our first 4.2 SC had a brand new set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero's on it which were great and this SC has a very new set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde's on it but I've not had a chance to do many miles in it yet.

Our 2012 4.4 TDV8 is still on it's original Continental tyres which are getting binned this year. It won't be getting another set of them.

Conti's seem to behave well on the L405 @ 22" - shoulder wear was a big issue on the L322 @ 20" - no idea why.

I like the Conti 22's, but have never tried the Pirellis

Thinking of getting a set on my D4, I had the verdes on my 322 for a few years probably about 20k have also run the same set on my D4 for the last year too. Seem to have worn well but the D4 has killed the front passenger side shoulder. Turned out to be a tracking issue tho. Other 3 are wearing well.

Scorpion verdes also come in a different sf merc version which do actually have the 3 peaks snowflake symbol on them, while being all season! Not in a 22” tho. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I just bought a set of the verde in 20s also. I couldn’t get any GG AT3 so got these at a reasonable price.

I'm happy with the Pirelli Verde on mine. They were fitted to the Bantayga on this weeks Harrys Garage video and they got a special mention as he really rates them on his L322 and they got the Bentley up slopes he wasn't expecting it to manage. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Pirelli seems the be the tyre of choice on here.

Pirelli Scorpion All Season for me.....Contis grip well but last about 3 miles

I’ve got the scorpion Verdes. Very Impressive 1995 4.6 v8, green/tan (long gone)

Or our previous Mercedes AMG SUV there was initially only Conti available in the right size. I found they vary a lot in compound between them. The star (bmw) version was much better wearing and comfortable than the MO (Mercedes) version.

My L322 had some stupid Chinese ditch finders on them, but as they were brand new i drove on them during the summer on my 22” hawke wheels. But come September I changed them straight for Pirelli All Season and they are a fantastic tyre oh my 22”. Immense grip on our dirty nasty country lanes, no matter how hard I try unleashing those 510 horses. Very impressive.

I don’t think Michelin’s pilot sport can be compared as it has a very different purpose being a summer tyres. We got them on our BMW M2 and let’s just say that on cold tarmac they can be ducking scary. So much so I ordered a set of winter wheels and tyres for it; Michelin Pilot Alpin which transforms the use ability.

Anyway back to the Range Rover, I think why the Pirelli are so loved is that they provide an excellent combination of year round grip, comfort, and performance. And look good as well.

PS Michelin Cross Climate was good as well, on my wife’s Audi, but didn’t realise they do now 22” sizes. I still wouldn’t get them again as they are so ugly on a car.
