How about switching off 3g roaming and just leaving the wifi on - afaik there are no global roaming charges for using wifi only GPRS/3G. The iPad/phone should default to a wifi signal if there is one around and wifi is enabled. Problem is finding free wifi overseas or even free wifi that doesn't want you to fill up a load of irrelevant personal info on a form (it's more valuable to them than your fees for wifi usually!) before allowing you access. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |
