L405 DOOR SEAL

L405 Door seals, does anyone else have issues?

I can hear excessive wind noise on the driver side, and I can then pinch the door and shut together with my fingers and the noise almost 80% goes away... new seal or do I need to re-align my door etc?

Australia 2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Hi,

I have the same issue on my 2015 L405 but only at speeds of 130-140km plus on EU roads. Shocked

My 2011 L322 also does it but at 100km/hr.

What I do is open the door, put the window down, stand between the car and the door and physically pull the top window pillar/frame inward toward the car (some force applied) and the wind noise goes away for about a 6 months.
Just one or 2-3 descent shoves seems to do the trick for me.

I have not yet been annoyed enough with the L405 to do the same.

My seals/rubbers look good on both vehicles.

Hope it helps.

This really does my head in now.. there is about 5 or mode DB different when I pinch and squeeze the door in between my fingers, so it really is either the door twisted/deformed or the seals that are shot....

Get a 6' block of wood (like a pallet foot) and close it in your door around where your latch is... Now make 100% certain your window is open (as its double glazed and will crack!) now push some weight against the top frame of your door! Gently at first then apply more pressure, bit by bit and you'll feel the door frame give, a couple of mm at a time... Check the gap has gone and road test... If not enough, redo steps above until it fits properly Thumbs Up

Sounds harder than it is... Just remember, baby steps! Very Happy

£75k+ to buy new and resorting to blocks of wood to bend doors into shape, love it!

I had a Mercedes with the same problem - the dealer fix was exactly the one Craig suggested. Geoff

Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone have the part number for the door seal that runs around the drivers door? Mine has been ripped and damaged so ideally need to replace it. - Corris Grey 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8
