Hybrid TV Tuner Aerial / Other Upgrades

Our late 2006 3.6TDV8 has the standard Hybrid Analog/ Digital TV Tuner.
Picture quality on the factory head unit is never going to be considered brilliant - but it could while away 15 mins while waiting for SWMBO sometimes if it was tolerable to use.
However, the problem with ours is that the sound always breaks up every minute or so for a couple of seconds & has done so whenever the TV is used in the 2 years + we've owned the car.

I've gone through the forum & Google & there are plenty of comments confirming that signal quality is absolutely key to good picture & sound & that typically the sound breaking up is a symptom of poor signal quality.
What I don't understand is that the quality never seems to vary - it always has the sound issue - no matter where I'm parked up (whether in built-up city areas or in the countryside)

I've tried re-making all the aerial & TV Tuner connections, but nothing has improved.

Has anyone found any aerial upgrades or any other ways of improving the sound / signal ?

I'm not prepared to spend a fortune on something that's always going to get minimal use, but I'd invest a reasonable amount in getting rid of the stuttering to make it tolerable Paul,

I finally got round to using my GAP iiD tool on the car to check what Part No. my Hybrid Tuner is & whether there are known software updates.
After checking the CCF I discovered my Hybrid TV Tuner was set to analog !
I've not seen any reference elsewhere there were settings that could be changed !
I've changed it to Digital & the picture has improved slightly and the sound drop-outs have reduced to maybe 1s max (it was 2~3s before). Almost tolerable - based on 5 minutes of viewing Very Happy

I've also found that there are software upgrades available - presumably if I pay for an upgrade file.

There are also later Hybrid TV Tuner part numbers than mine.
Apparently they are common for
-Discovery 3 2005 - 2009
- Range Rover 2002 - 2009,
- Range Rover Sport 2005 - 2009.
PNs in order of supercession are :
XRA500070 / UH42-19C063-BA ,
XRA500180
XRA500230
XRA500220 / 7H42--19C063-AA
LR014222

Different question this time, has anyone updated the software on their Audio system or TV Tuner ? Paul,
