United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue
Supercharged Sensor

Does anyone know the official name of this sensor? I’ve circled it in red.

One of the wires going into the plug has broken. I’ve removed the pin from the plug but I can’t open the pin to replace the wire on it. I’m hoping to find pins to fit but don’t know what I’m searching for. It broke as soon as I touched it when moving it out of the way unfortunately.

Thanks

It is indeed. Turns out the same sensor is fitted to the Mk2 1.6 Ford Focus of which there was one in the local scrappy so I now have a plug with tails on it.

I’m not.

One of the wires going into the plug snapped flush with where it was crimped.

When I found out it was the MAF I found it was common to a Ford Focus so visited the local scrappy and cut the plug off one. I then managed to remove the pin from the Focus plug and fit it to the plug on my RR then solder it to the loom.

Useful information to know as I have to have a rummage in that area as soon as it gets a little warmer.

The biggest problem I have is reaching that area, last time I ended up lying on my stomach on top of the rads and engine, not very comfortable.

So wondering how you reach that area? Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged 2006

I’m 6’4 so reaching things isn’t generally an issue but I did it the same way you did. It’s not very comfy and my back didn’t enjoy it but other then banging myself upside down from the gantry I can’t think of a better way. Very Happy 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Thanks David,

I can see that your extra 6" over me would be a great help.

I shall just persevere with the discomfort.
