Heater fan woes again

I know this whole issue must have been done to death so sorry about asking ...but

My fan was working fine until a few weeks ago. Then it completey stopped. I'd replaced the FSR about a year ago (genuine part) so assumed it was probably the same again. Ordered a replacement, fine. So I go to fit the new one and wanted to check how stiff the fan was, maybe its overworking the FSR. So I took the cabin filter housing off and reached inside to feel the fan. It seemed ok, not free wheeling but not too much resistance either. I turned the ignition on and Censored me the fan starts working ! So since then the fan works fine every time. Till Sunday, snow everywhere, I need the car and sod it, bloody fan not working !
I had used the remote FBH 20 minutes before and wondered is there a common control relationship between the heater system and the FBH, both operate the fan, so what does that operation ? Is there a common controller ? I've not fitted the new FSR yet, I'm just not convinced its the problem now.

Any pointers ??? I've got a 160 mile round trip tomorrow so hoping the ram air effect keeps me warm lol But seriouslt it not going to be fun, I've got dreadful condensation issues in the car already, another issue I can't track down.

Condensation = water leak somewhere. Check front floor carpets, check rear boot well and side wells. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

It's possible the main fan has siezed up completely.

If you can get the pollen filter off and reach inside to check the fan's moving then you might be able to spray some switch lube onto the fan bearings to get it going again.

Replacement of the fan is not difficult, but it is time consuming and is not for the faint hearted.

Just been through everything and its bone dry. Being a 2012 model I'd like to think a lot of those common issues had been dealt with, still alwasy worth a check ! I didn't check the sunroof drains now I think of it, not sure were they drain to ??
Maybe the air-con is past its best ? Tricky finding out in this weather lol

Well after an intense hour of swearing I've changed the FSR and the fan works again..... If that is the problem and not just coincidence again.... there must be a better solution ?!?! 2 FSR's in 2 years ? Like a service item !

As for the condensation, need to check the air con, job for tomorrow when I'm warm again
