That is a dog Craig !!We are fortunate that late at night they can walk themselves, half a mile up to the forest, run about, be daft them home, 15 mins usually, last night after half hour began to be a tad concerned, 2 hours later after hunting around in the FF found the Dane and 1 of the labs on the land of a well known, unscrupulous puppy farm about 2 miles away, wont be doing that in a hurry they were very contrite

Purebred with a family tree of 5 generations, lots of paperwork, most of which I can't remember now, so I hope it is good enough? Regardless, we can't wait to get him next week when he is 8 weeks old!

Been looking after a friends dog - a King Charles Spaniel.

It's been lovely having a dog, and was very sad when she went back. I did feel a little self concious walking such a gay looking dog though. Especially as she's called Annabelle. :lol:

We got dogs a little over three years ago now. They're from a Hungarian rescue organisation. Both dogs had been badly treated and were identified as problem cases.

This is Karcsi, which is Hungarian for Charlie.

He has a big fear of other dogs and men and the fear manifests itself with aggression. We were told the previous owner had a new boyfriend who badly treated him. It's particularly tall men he doesn't like.

He's very affectionate with us, but can be aggressive with other people. We have to keep an eye on him. He doesn't bite, just barks. He goes mental with other dogs and that's not really improved since we've had him. He was so angry at another dog once that he lost his footing and fell in the lake.

He loves the snow.

This dog was called Ficko. In English that sounds like 'Thicko', and German for f*ck is fick, so we changed his name to Feecho.

He is an insecure dog. When we got him he used to shudder every time we went to stroke him, like he was preparing to be hit. He also normally does his poo up a hill, like he's been shut in a cage and has to poo through the mesh. He'd obviously been regularly beaten and caged.

He used to bite us very badly when we got him. You'd be stroking him and suddenly he'd bite. We noticed it was always in the evening. Then we realised that he didn't sleep in the evening he'd just stare at us with red eyes, desperately tired but reluctant to sleep. So for a while we ignored him in the evening and let him try and get some rest.

He also didn't trust us on walks, and would often stop walking, so we carried a bag to carry him.

We also used to occasionally muzzle him if we had to pick him up.

After about two years of giving him lots of love he became the dog we thought he actually was. He doesn't bite any more, he's very affectionate, and he trusts us. He seems a lot happier.

On the whole it's been a rewarding experience. I wouldn't do it again with two dogs, but I would with one.

I don't want to put any one off getting a dog from a home. Ours were identified as problem dogs. Most dogs don't have such problems, and in any case, as I stated it's been a very good experience and we love the dogs.

Our last one passed in April 2020 so we went back to same breeder and have a 4 month old lab puppy couldn't be without a dog

2014 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Loire Blue

Here’s our Rescue dog in the garden this morning. Got him at 6 months and he’s now 10.

The home said he was a Collie/Alsatian/Husky cross and many people comment that he looks a bit Wolf like, so he should be right at home in this weather.

He’s had issues over the 10 years that have got better but on the whole it’s been a rewarding experience.

Our last Collie lived until he was 18 and if this one lives anything like that he’ll probably be our last. With a son who lives in Australia long trips away lie ahead and I’ve never been a fan of putting the dog in kennels.

We had two Tibetan Terriers, mother (when aged

followed by one of her daughters (when aged 3). Both ex show girls (crufts). Sadly lost the mother last April, so waiting for another ex show dog. Still at least the bin is now safe.
