Airbag Control Module/Ecu

The garage I bought the car from offered to put a new mot on it before sale, then during the test drive I spotted the airbag light was on. Somehow the airbag light was 'reset' and the car got an mot, but the light came back on driving it back from the mot test station (apparently). I said I would take the car anyway, provided they fix the airbag as promised, and they have signed my invoice to say they will.

After trying a second hand part, which didnt work, they told me they have ordered a new one but its on back order. This was last November, havent heard from them since.

Just rung Heritage Land Rover in Cheltenham to enquire about the part, and the guy in the parts department told me they cant get them as the car is more than 10 years old and therefore the part is 'obsolete' Shocked

Cant be right, surely??

Any ideas how I would get hold of one? There's plenty of second hand ones on ebay for peanuts, but they apparently dont work? Pikey by name, not by nature Smile

Just heard from the garage that a new part should be here soon to fix this, so hopefully its a non-issue Smile Pikey by name, not by nature Smile
