I wish I'd never bought it

We've had our FFRR for about 5 months now ('07 plate approved used FFRR from LPR) and it's just broken down for the fifth time. Land rover recovery are fed up with us. Should we persevere on the basis that it looks great, or tell Lookers Park Royal that the car is rubbish, get our money back and get an X5 instead? '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows

Erm it most definitely doesn't sound like it should have been 'approved' for anything. What are the issues? I'd get rid of it...

Hand brake has failed, suspension has failed, ignition has failed, HDC has failed, suspension has failed (again)

I don't blame Lookers, they didn't sell me a pile of sh*t deliberately but I really regret buying it. '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows

It should have been checked properly in the first place. A Range Rover courtesy car should be a given for a start.

Obviously sincere apologies Andy.......... I've not been made aware that you've had any issues. Apart from the handbrake they sound connected. Will speak to Jeremy and call you.

I was possibly a bit angry when I posted last night, sorry James!

I don't want this in anyway to come across as being a reflection on you folk at Lookers, you've done nothing wrong, sold me the car in good faith and are really great guys, unfortunately the car is a bit of a disaster '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows

Don't apologise, you clearly have some problems with the RR which is not right Shocked . It sounds like we need to get the vehicle in and give it a thorough health check?

andy

try not to lose faith. I have had some niggles with my 07 since i picked it up back in November. The dealer agreed to make things right when i picked it up and whilst they have had to do it a few times, i am nearly through it all.

My list:
Poor paintwork, badly prepped - complete paint correction by detailer
warped front disks - replaced along with pads
scored rear disks - replaced along with pads
surface rust on inside of rear arches - 3 smart repairs, now in with proper body shop to be done along with some other stone chips on bonnet
phone book sync - applied TB to fix
kurbed wheel - refurbed twice by smart repair guy, now replaced with 20's
rear door seal torn - replaced
drivers seat stopped working - trapped wire replaced/fixed
poorly fitted panel behind fornt wheel - replaced
pre heater not working - battery in remote replaced

small things that add up to a pain in the arse! But worse was each time it went back they would do half a job or do the job poorly. Iget the car back from the bodyshop today and hopefully everything is now sorted. To be fair to the dealer they have been apologetic but i want to get these things addressed and get back to my usual dealer. And whenever they had to do something they gave me either a brand new 4.4 or a brand new rrs for my troubles and always refilled my tank.

Lookers: Good on you to come on here and publicy state you are going to resolve, a lot of other dealers wouldnt have the balls.
