Not too fussed about upping the oomph or the dpf removal but getting rid of the egr means a much cleaner engine , dpf probably won't clog up as much either , another one following this thread .

I've just had a reply off them to remap my car for £249. I told them I wanted to get rid of a flat spot and low speed hesitation. Will look into it further.

I think my quote was from their main site and I couldn't tick the egr delete option. I've sent them the question to see if they can.

Following this thread with interest.
Had a quote from Celtic Tuning.
Stage 1 remap £325 as to EGR and DPF they say this
ADDITIONAL REQUESTED OPTIONS - DPF & EGR REMOVAL
Whilst we can remove the DPF & EGR from the software at no extra charge if carried out at the same time as a remap, there are laws governing them as a requirement for highway use and they are therefore an MOT requirement. Removal of this from the software will be carried out at your discretion and you will be required to sign a disclaimer accepting it is for off-road use only. Please note that the DPF would need to be physically removed from the car in advance.

My two peneth for what its worth?

We have a Mapper who "live tunes" the cars i.e. not just a generic MAP for a 3.6 or 4.4 but a bespoke map for your engines characteristics... So, after discussing 4.4 engines with him in great length! The MOT smoke test would FAIL as the Cat & DPF removes the small amount of smoke that 4.4's make! Remove the Cat & DPF from a 4.4 and they STINK like a 1970's ice cream van! I know we have a couple of customers who have tried the removal and remap route...

Another question we get asked a lot is "exhaust noise" or lack of it! The 4.4 is muted because of the DPF... Don't believe this? Remove the exhaust system from your DPF back and listen, drive it! The only thing i can see the exhaust does is regulate the sound i.e. when a valve opens making the turbo whine sound like a miniature jet engine! Stood outside, Have a listen to your cars on tick over, after a couple of minutes you will here it. Obviously very muted with your exhaust system fitted but easily heard...

So, stick to an EGR map out and tune... Thumbs Up

And of course, when you inform your insurance about the modification they will revoke your policy as it won't be legally allowed to drive on a public highway.

it is an offence under the Road vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Regulation 61a(3))1 to use a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emissions standards it was designed to meet. Removal of a DPF will almost invariably contravene these requirements.

You are required by law to tell your insurance company of any modification so you have to ask if this whole process is really worth the hassle. In the event of a serious accident you could find your car being inspected by someone other than the insurance people, if a modification such as this is found then your policy would be null & void, that goes for your legal cover too if you have it. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

Personally I wouldn’t bother with a remap or messing with the EGR or DPF, these engines have enough torque and get up and go as they are.

EGR is designed-in - you’re altering a lot of parameters removing it, not just a bit of fuelling etc.

I just bought 3days ago 2011 4.4TDV8 and now i'm wanna do egr and dpf delete. I did full delete on my old 3.6tdv8. But how i know that egr on this 4.4 is much more different.

I have kess and iidtool so i can tune it. But i would need good tune from somewhere. Last time i went to celtic tuning and it was 500 euros. But i did took remap egr and dpf delete. Now i'm not sure about remap. Remap would increase torque to 800nm and 8hp70 is rated to 700nm but L405 tdv8 with same trans already has 740nm so i dont think that it would be a problem.

Does anyone know any good place online where i could buy tune, i would want two tunes. One with egr and dpf delete and one with remap and egr dpf delete.

I checked that SLT remapping. Does anyone know price? and is it professional?

And also has anyone tuned their 8hp70 trans? Atleast darkside developments sells tunes for vag/bmw 8hp70.

nigor: simply on a personal note & nothing else.........leave her alone!
Learning from guys on here who know shed loads more than me, a] you can't delete a 4.4TDV8 EGR/DPF as that upsets the engine and b] the 8 speed box is carting 2.5 ton of metal already & why would you want to 'map' a gearbox anyway?
These beasts will move when you want them to so if you want some vrooooom go get a Cayman! 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

Well I just cant believe big businesses like celtictuning and quantum tuning are offering "false" services.

4.4 TDV8 engine uses bosch EDC17CP11 ecu. It is widely tuned ecu so i cannot see any problem why egr and dpf could not be deleted.

Maybe you are just some wannabe world savior. Dpf and egr wont save world. Those are bad systems which should be removed from every car.
