Hey Dr Rob,
Smile sage words. Thanks. I am starting to come around to the idea of keeping mine, on the proviso I can sort the wiper out. The repaired units on ebay for $$$ are no more likely to last than the previous repairs I have already done. But if I can shoe-horn a new 2010 wiper motor into mine, then I'll be happy and I'll go ahead with fixing the other annoyances.

As for the remap. That is not for me, each to his own and all that, but I will listen to what Harry Metcalfe(?) said during a Harry's Garage video on the 3.6 tdv8 - i.e. The gear box is already on the limit of how much torque it can take, so avoid chipping the 3.6. I'm sure there are plenty of people that have, and have been very happy. However, I would rather ensure the long term future of my car rather than do anything that *might* risk additional wear and tear. And to be fair, I can live with the power of the standard 3.6 quite happily.
Harry Metcalfe, for those that do not know - is the founder of Evo magazine, and his "Harry's Garage" videos on youtube are, for me, some of the best car videos on youtube. Much better to watch that the likes of loud mouth Doug Demoro and his ilk.

Right - order of work.
Sort wiper.
Sort tyres
Sort CD player
Get it polished.
Happy for a while.

Cheers
Mark

Plus a 4.4 has a DPF and EGR cannot be blanked - that is a big bonus with the 3.6.

Not sure who told you that Rob but it is possible to do away with both Thumbs Up

Probably the current MOT legislation

Testers are also required to check if diesel cars’ DPFs have been tampered with or removed. If there are visible signs of this, the tester must refuse to test the car unless the owner can provide a legitimate reason for it having been removed, such as for cleaning. It’s already illegal to drive a vehicle that has had its DPF removed. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

I just put a deposit down on one at 100k miles (just over) had it’s oil cooler changes and the auto box has been flushed with a “ok” stamped history

Just going to put a post up about what to look for, it’s an 11 plate, blue with a black interior like you I not a fan of cream as I use my cars to much

Little daunted it’s my first L233 and modern Land Rover, had a disco 2 V8, Range Rover classic (300tdi softdash) and my V8 110 and 109 (still own)
