TD6 Front diff oil seal (HalfShaft end) | |
Evening all
After getting out of the car today I could smell diff oil !
Looked at the front underneath, looked at the back underneath....was clear as day it was coming from the front.
Stuck it up in the air again to find it looks to be coming from the driveshaft end of the front diff, I assume an oil seal that sits behind has failed.
I only changed the diff oil around 200/300 miles ago, I hope some rust or swarf wasn't injested, I cleaned up the fill and drain plugs well and they both went back in nice and easy.
Anyway, like my "Unable to remove driveshaft, from rear hub" topic - https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic57796-15.html
I assume that this job wont be possible, unless that shaft is separated from the front hub using a DIY puller as i've seen on here ?
I would have said do you think it would be easier for me to remove the old driveshaft by using a slide hammer on the shaft (if I get it seperated) ? Current Fleet
