Logic 7 vs HD honest opinions. Is it worth it?

Good afternoon everyone
I have had a look on the forum for views but can’t seem to get a definite answer, so I decided to post here.
I’m very keen to hear opinions of people who have had experience of these systems. I will be looking to purchase either a Vogue SE or a Westminster and I know the Westminster comes with the upgraded system. I prefer the spec on the vogue SE but wondering if not having the HD system would make me go with the Westminster. I do like my music but I’m more interested in quality of sound rather than volume if that makes sense?
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Hope everyone is keeping well!

You need it then mate. It’s the only option I wished mine had.

I’m into my music too, got a LINN system at home.

It’s not just volume, the amp is upgraded, as are the speakers.....

I’m not convinced all Westminster’s have it. Make sure it says HD on the speaker grilles... as you prob know already.

with noise from passing traffic, the engine and the road you would have to be very picky to tell the difference.. ... - .- -.

I was thinking that. The vogue centre in Oldham seems to have a few and fair reviews on here

You don’t actually have to buy from where you go, but I don’t think the Vogue Centre are any worse than others. Not used them myself. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

How do you find your “standard” system is it still good, or just could be better?
Thanks

I've not experienced a 'standard' as I've got an HD.
Which is absolutely EPIC

. Cheers, Greg

It’s not bad, as such. I had a Stage 2 amp upgrade on my 2003 car, and that was pretty good just with the standard speakers. Used to sound like playing music through a sock...

The setup in my 2011 isn’t as bad as the old BMW standard system, but not as good as bespoke systems in other makes of car.

I think there is more depth to be had, and maybe more control as the volume increases. It can get a bit muddled.... it was markedly improved with me turning off Logic 7, as that is meant for a surround source... not really music.

You need to get in one and try some settings to give you a baseline.... then do the same in an HD equipped car.

My 2011 AB just has the standard one and to my old ears it sounds wonderful, best system I have ever had...

I can't imagine how the HD could be better, but I'm sure it is... Thumbs Up Pete

I preferred to have the HD system as well, but cars that have it and aren't Westminsters are super rare. Ultimately these are now 9-11 year old cars, and something has to give.

The HD system is better, but the 'standard' Harmon Kardon is not bad either. For the standard system on MY2010+ cars, you are talking about a system that is classed as an upgraded system for most manufacturers. The bigger improvement on these older cars is to refit the system and add some sound deadening material in the 'loose' bits to stop the resonance.

Furthermore having good internal acoustics further improves it; a better-specified car than a Westminster with leather headling, deep pile carpet mats, better quality leather seats, laminated windows, and leather all around do wonders for the sound. And of course, a car that still has its luggage cover in one piece and in place.

I was really tempted by the HD system but just didn't like the Westminster trim level as you can get much better-specified Autobiography or SE cars with better car acoustics anyway.

This is perfect feedback! I didn’t think of it like that, it makes my mind up on the se, as I like the adaptive CC and the better leather etc. Thank you very much!!
