FBH TD6

I know the topic has been covered numerous times and despite searching through the forums I cannot see the answer to my question regarding the FBH fitted to my 52 plate TD6 Vogue. I can select time on/off etc but only for cold air . Can I change it to pre-heat the car as other vehicles ? I have looked through the menu on my IDtool but still unable to change it to hot/warm air ? Is it that on the early models it just aids cold temperature starts ?

You have to have park heating (as its called) enabled in the ccf for it come up on the screen, mine is an 04 model and although had the FBH which comes on with engine when cold no option to set timer for it, the info on where it needs to enabled is on the Gap web site, I printed the info off and got Old Forge Garage here in Lincoln to enable it for me but just when you need it most my FBh has gone on strike ! Out of interest then, how do you turn the FBH on if you dont have the option on the nav screen?

I mean, presumably there would be a way to get it to come on manually? - If I knew it worked, I'd then investigate getting something to be able to edit the CCF files and enable it properly.

I must admit, I always thought our 03 Td6 was specified without it.

You cant turn it on unless the option is show`n on the screen, it comes on (or should) when the engine is cold to assist warm up on the diesel, I thought it was standard fit on td6 left hand wing below battery behind left front wheel splash guard maybe yours has stopped working normally you can hear it start up from cold. I had mine enabled so I could make it remote switch on using a Vellman wireless remote kit (range not as good as standard fit but good enough range for my needs) if you look in the engine bay left hand inner wing you should have couple of valves and a pump with pipe work going towards the bulkhead from FBH which will give you a clue if its fitted or not.

Thanks for the reply , I did enable it in the ID tool file but still no joy . Do you happen to have a copy of the GAP instructions that you could possibly post up on the forum please .

Thanks , I did go through this but doesn't specifically say how to 'turn the heater function on' in the TD6 . I just says how to do a diagnostic and purge on page 124 if the system hasn't been used for a while .

I did it on my TD6 when I had it, and I seem to remember having to do 2 things. Enable in CCF and then an instrument cluster reset I think.

I’ll look for my post on here....

To be honest - I had to google what an FBH actually was.
So we are saying that my old dear has one of these somewhere, and I need to have some
some sort of remote, working thermostat Wink , enabled via OBD ?

To be fair I have noticed this car doesnt take too long to heat up compared to other diesels ive owned, i know some diesels have pre heaters that heat up the coolant going into heater matrix to heat up the cabin faster. Current Fleet

Has anyone found a working, non-LR alternative to the FBH pump for a TD6? The pump from the dealers is well over £100, whereas pumps that look the same are available for a fraction of that, such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Meterin...08KXXVY43. Has anyone found one that is the right physical size, has the same wiring connector, and pumps at the correct rate?
