United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
Front Windscreen Wipers / Mechanism

Good evening folks,

Seeking a little advice if anyone could help please!

Driving my 2002 L322 TD6 today and upon switching the wipers on, after a couple of sweeps the passenger wiper stopped working resting in the park position. Drivers side (fortunately) carried on.

Had a quick peep under the bonnet / scuttle area and it appears that the mechanism may have come apart in the vicinity of the passenger wiper.

Is there any advice on how I can access and investigate the issue and how to repair etc?

Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

Regards.

This shows how to access, had a similar issue previously.
The connecting arm socket can wear & fall off. If you’re lucky you can turn it around so gravity keeps the worn end on & the good end clips back on to the linkage.

I don't think they're available separately.
You may get one off a breakers but that could be in a similar condition.
Some people have drilled a small hole through the shaft & used a washer & pin through it.

They are not sold individually. Motor together with linkage.
Years ago when searching one bar/part of the linkage I found clip from ebay, made for solving this problem. I was sceptic and ordered few. Very easy to install and has been working ever since.

So while waiting on the new poly bushes from the above link i had to re-attach, the drill bit then broke while trying to drill the centre out Censored Censored so i then thought i would try some grips and pop it went into place and can no longer pull it apart!!

lesson is if it happens to you you will not be able to push fit by hand you need some grips and a good squeeze you will feel it locate. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

Interesting point on the grips. I have this problem with it popping out at inopportune moments, like in the middle of a cloudburst just now! Had clicked it by hand a couple of times, but no joy, so had a go with grips. No luck, exactly the same result. So while awaiting the new bearing cups, tried to fill out the existing a bit. 8 layers of clingfilm and I can’t pull it apart ( not tried too hard!) So we’ll see might have to try the drilling out if it doesn’t hold.
