Thank you so much. That may be the actual explanation for what I am experiencing. That would make sense if it was programmed like that.

I have also taken the earlier suggestion to heart and turned both heater knobs on full when I parked it. I will run it later to see how warm it gets on full AND whether its 17 minutes or 30.

Mine works ok with the remote and it seems to come on when you start the engine but I have not been able to set the timed climate on the screen. (Greyed our as you say) I spent a while on the net last week looking and came across this. You activate it via the radio power button, not while the ignition is on. The greyed out buttons then become active. This has turned out to be true on my 2012 one, though I still don’t think I got it to work. It happened to be a fair bit warmer the next day so am waiting to try again when it’s cold.
