Switzerland 2008 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black
Stolen

If anybody sees it......
My 9 month old FFRR TDV8 was stolen off my drive in Kent last week: Java Black with Sand. Also LH drive on Swiss plates with a big, black Thule roof box on top although I s'pose these disappeared pdq.
Brand new S/C wheels and tyres inside the vehicle waiting to go on the vehicle next day.
A fine welcome back to the UK indeed!

Tks

Ouch, makes you want to cry I bet.

Whatever has happened to it, you're probably better off not getting it back, you never know what's gone on. Lets just hope the insurance pays up enough to replace it all like for like. Discovery 4 HSE

Not strong enough!

Makes you nostalgic for the days when you could open a car with any old bit of metal or a tennis ball. Now they break into your house, take the car and empty the house while they're at it. Double whammy!

RRUK is right though - in a harsh but fair sort of way! Smile . Hopefully it won't be recovered. Apart from any immeadiate damage done, theres always the hidden damage from taking speed bumps, curbs etc at speed that won't be apparent for months or years. It'll never be the same car.

I wonder if you can claim for the car on the house insurance as the keys were nicked in a break in? Very Happy Very Happy

No Tracker? When I insured mine, I had to have a tracking device fitted. Every insurance company I rang requested this. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Tracker wasn't specified on my insurance.

Cost was low anyway, not sure if I'd ever get the return on the investment. Not sure I'd want the car back anyway after being "soiled" by scum.

How much does a tracker bring the insurance down by (%)?

I don't think it brought the cost down, but the insurers reckoned it needed to be fitted, due to the high numbers of 4x4s that go missing and get shipped abroad. They cited the range rover, X5 and the merc ML as the top three on the thieves list. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

No insurance company I dealt with required a tracker for my FFRR either, which surprised me. Got one on my other car, more for peace of mind, however, it also has a Vecta Mangusta immobiliser which if I remember correctly has 15-18 identical black wires which are linked into the wiring loom and basically, without the Vecta key, the car cannot be started. If stolen, the wiring looms would have to be replaced as the immobiliser circuit boards are bonded to the inside of the outer casing and hence cutting it open effectively breaks it. Don't know how good the FFRR immobiliser is in comparison. Steve
