Tailgate strut bracket location verification

Hi Everyone,

I'm going to do the tailgate modification to my '09 to have the tailgate open gently instead of crashing down like it does now.

I got all of the needed parts from this thread: https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic9221.html?highlight=lr021053

The only question is exactly how to position the bracket that attaches to the tailgate.

I found this image on the web but I don't know if it's accurate.

Can anyone verify this position? The text said that it was 122 - 125mm from the bottom of the tailgate but the image shows it from close, but not at the bottom of the gate.

Thanks in advance!

Have a look on here there’s some fitting info in there somewhere. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the pointer but that's the thread where I got all of the information about what parts are needed.

This does have a bit of placement info but it didn't have any exact measurements as I recall.

I was hoping to find someone with a '10, '11 or '12 who could verify by actually measuring it themselves.

Thanks!

Ah, ok.

Sorry mine has gone now, I did do this addition to my 07, seemed to recall I just put it where it sat right. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It's dark out hereabouts, but leaving a nice ale and measuring things, if it helps mine is 124mm on the indicated dimension.

Thus I guess that the 120-125mm is fine.
